When it comes to an image file, having both a small file size and a high graphic quality is not something that can be easily achieved. For example, we often have been required to look for methods to shrink and resize our images in order to be able to distribute them over the Internet. Since performing this kind of tasks manually isn’t exactly an option, programs like STOIK Smart Resizer have been created.

STOIK Smart Resizer makes it easy to resize photos in both ways: either shrink or enlarge them. What makes this application stand out from the crowd of image resizing tools is, at least for me, the fact that it deploys the use of powerful and effective proprietary image resizing algorithms. I’ve seen a lot of image resizers using the bicubic or the high quality bilinear algorithms, but I’ve seen only a very few using their own algorithms. STOIK Smart Resizer is one of these rare examples. These algorithms are an important matter because their deployment is the first sign that the application actually truly attempts to offer the best possible quality of the output picture after the resizing process. Usually, the resizing of a picture greatly affects its quality too. Happily, that’s rarely the case when using STOIK Smart Resizer, thanks to its effective resizing algorithms.

While most image resizing applications can only reduce the size of the images, STOIK Smart Resizer can also enlarge them. I like a lot the fact that it comes with many predefined size templates, letting you easily and quickly resize a photo to a specific letter size or to the standard dimensions required by specific devices such as DVDs.

The additional features such as the support for batch resizing, the preview function or the fast processing speed convinced me that this application is one of the best of its kind. The interface is also worth being praised, as it is really simple, neat and easy-to-use. The only negative thing to say about this tool would be that it comes with a high price, but I have to admit it’s completely justified.

I don't see what is so much useful in this app. If a pic is of a low quality, you won't be able to enlarge it. Sorry, you'll enlarge it, but the quality will be the same. So, a number of programs can do this for free. To pay 50 bucks for resizing images doesn't seem reasonable at all.
